Meet the Ort Family!

Meet the Orts, a diverse family of nine. Through foster care and adoption, parents Jeffrey and Emily have added two boys “to the fun mix of Ortlings.” With youngsters ranging in ages from 6 to 19, the household is always a busy, lively place. The newest family members are 8-year-old Ian, whom the couple adopted at age 3, and 15-year- old Orion, who came to the Ort home two years ago. The five original Ort youngsters are: Keith, age 19; Jacob, age 18; Kara, age 14; Simon, age 12; and Gracey, age 6.

In expanding their family, the Orts chose to include youngsters with disabilities and different ethnicities. Emily writes, “We saw our involvement in foster care and adoption as a way of supporting those families who could no longer care for their child.” These parents are tireless advocates for the services that will help their new sons be the healthiest they can be.
