Senate Adoption Coalition Co-chairs Reintroduce Bills on Post-Adoption Services and Unregulated Custody Transfers: Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Kevin Cramer (R-ND), who co-chair the Congressional Adoption Coalition, have reintroduced legislation that would support adoption services. The Supporting Adopted Children & Families Act (S. 600) would set aside $20 million per year in new Title IV-B funding for post-adoption and post-legal guardianship mental health services. The Safe Home Act (S. 604) would direct the Department of Health and Human Services to provide states with guidance on preventing, identifying, and responding to unregulated custody transfers (UCTs).
