New Policy Interns: Matthew Jacobs and Evin Carrizales

Meet Matthew Jacobs!

Matthew is a junior studying Political Science and Social Work at Michigan State University. He is a facilitator in the Intergroup Dialogues program at MSU and has been involved with them for the last four semesters. Matthew worked in Lansing at a Behavioral Therapy Clinic as a Behavior Technician working with children on the autism spectrum. He has also worked at the Special Needs Playground Program in St. Clair Shores, MI the last two summers. Matthew plans on graduating with both bachelor degrees in May of 2022. At some point he would like to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer, before or after graduate school. 

 "I am so excited to have the opportunity to be interning with Voice for Adoption. I am passionate about social justice and advocacy, and have a range  of   experience working with different populations.This internship will give me the experiences to understand what goes into running a nonprofit, policy work,   and exploring related fields in D.C."

Meet Evin Carrizales!

Evin is a senior studying Political Science at Michigan State University. Evin has been an Election Inspector for Lansing Charter Township since Winter of 2016. In his spare time he loves to read books and play with his pet Geckos. Evin plans on gradating Summer of 2020 with his Bachelor's degree in Political Science. After this he plans on continuing his education by getting his Mater's Degree in Human Resources Labor Relations.

"Working at Voice for Adoption and non-profits in general is a completely new experience for me! I'm overly excited and and thankful for this opportunity given to me and I am ready to give my all while I am here at VFA. I cannot wait to learn and develop new skills that I can use in my future endeavors while also helping out a good cause along the way."
