House Passes IV-B Reauthorization

The House passed legislation (H.R. 9076) reauthorizing Title IV-B programs on September 18. The bill includes several provisions backed by Voice for Adoption, including $5 million per year for studies of programs that would qualify for funding under the Family First Prevention Services Act. The bill also directs HHS to release a report on adoption disruption and dissolution for children adopted from the foster care system and factors associated with those disruptions and dissolutions. The bill is now awaiting action in the Senate or (more likely) a post-election deal that is worked out between the two chambers before the end of the year.
