Northwest Resource Associates

Kendra Morris-Jacobson, Director of Oregon Programs

Kendra oversees the Oregon Post Adoption Resource Center (ORPARC) and the Oregon Adoption Resource Exchange (OARE) for NWRA, and still prioritizes time for direct work with families, workers and children. Honored as Senator Wyden's 2016 Angel in Adoption, she has spent over 25 years in foster care adoption, including with VFA, where she has supported the Portrait Project for many years. In 2017, she authored a chapter for international therapeutic life story work expert (TLSWi) Richard Rose and earned TLSWi certification. As a prior editor, writer, and recruiter, she has captured the stories of hundreds of children and families. In previous clinical work at Oregon Health & Science University, Kendra counseled children and families, led groups for adolescent depression, and contributed to research studies. Kendra obtained her B.A. in English Literature and M.A. in Counseling Psychology, but feels that youth and families are by far our best guides and teachers.

Founded in 1980, NWRA has an established record of almost 40 years of incomparable service in three Pacific Northwest states (Alaska, Oregon, and Washington), as well as nationally. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, NWRA’s programs promote and enhance the welfare, health, and safety of children, individuals, families, and communities, particularly those impacted by child welfare systems, with a focus on foster care adoption-related services.
